We are pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to YES Prep’s Board of Directors. They bring tremendous experience as leaders in business and law and demonstrate a commitment to education. With their addition to our Board, we are confident that we will continue to lead Houston forward and fulfill our goal of quadrupling the number of YES Prep college-ready graduates by 2020. YES Prep Board's Unanimous Resolution to Support Undocumented Students

This morning, the YES Prep Board of Directors unanimously passed a resolution in support of our undocumented and immigrant students. As you know, last week the Trump administration announced the end of DACA. In light of that disappointing decision, one that has caused heightened fear and anxiety for many of our students, families, and teammates, the attached resolution both recognizes our ongoing commitment to our undocumented and immigrant students and establishes a clear commitment to how we will fight for permanent protections moving forward.

TEA's New A - F Accountability System

You may have read or heard about the new state accountability system for public education, based on a new letter grade (A – F) rating scale. I’m writing to you to provide a few of my thoughts about the new system, as well as comment on YES Prep’s performance.
