CEO Response to Santa Fe Tragedy

I struggled all weekend and all Monday thinking about what to write in response to Friday's events. When it comes down to it, there just aren’t any words that can give us the full assurance that we need, that we deeply crave. Similarly, I spent the weekend talking through Friday’s horrific murders with my two children who have questions for which I don’t have answers. They are justly concerned about their safety and the safety of their friends and teachers.

YES Prep Gulfton Awarded $20,000 by Project Lead The Way to Help Close Digital Divide

[Houston, TX]- Students at YES Prep Gulfton will soon have access to computer science courses that will give them an advantage in their education and future careers. The opportunity is made possible through a partnership between the Verizon Foundation and Project Lead The Way (PLTW). YES Prep Gulfton is one of 72 schools across the country receiving part of a $3 million grant provided by the Verizon Foundation for implementation of PLTW computer science curriculum.

20-Years Strong Celebratory Legacy Luncheon

(Houston, TX – November 13, 2017) – YES Prep Public Schools (YES Prep), Houston’s leaders and philanthropic community including Honorary Chairs and long-time YES Prep supporters Laura and John Arnold, along with Event Chairs and Board of Trustee members Lori and Chip Johnson, will honor Founder Chris Barbic on Friday, November 17, at their 20-Years Strong Celebratory Legacy Luncheon at The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.
