Houston, Texas (Thursday, April 7, 2016) - The YES Prep Public Schools Board of Directors unanimously voted to confirm Mark DiBella for the position of Chief Executive Officer. DiBella has held various, progressive roles with YES Prep since 2001 including serving as Superintendent for the last two years.
Latino Students and Houston’s Latino Leaders Celebrate Identity and Prepare to Take Action in their Community
The Education Results Partnership and the Institute for Productivity in Education listed YES Prep in its inaugural 2015 Texas Honor Roll. Four YES Prep campuses-- YES Prep West, YES Prep East End, YES Prep Southwest, and YES Prep Southeast-- were among 713 other schools named in the Star list. The Honor Roll recognizes schools and districts that demonstrate "consistently high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gaps."
Houston, Texas (Sunday, February 21, 2016)—The YES Prep Public Schools Board of Directors unanimously voted to name Mark DiBella as the sole finalist for the position of Chief Executive Officer.
The first weekend of February was cause for celebration in our nation's capital for many YES Prep staff members. It was the Teach for America 25th Anniversary Summit, an event drawing over 15,000 attendees. Founder Chris Barbic is a TFA alumnus, and, currently, 239 of YES Prep's 1,100 employees are TFA corps members or alumni.
