HOUSTON, Texas (May 18, 2016) – This morning, the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools and the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation announced that YES Prep Public Schools is one of three finalists for the prestigious Broad Prize for Public Charter Schools. Texas’s IDEA Public Schools and New York City’s Success Academy were also named finalists.
For the third year in a row, YES Prep was listed among America's Most Challenging High Schools by The Washington Post. This year, six YES Prep campuses were ranked according to The Washington Post's Challenge Index, a formula which divides the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school in the previous calendar year by the number of students who graduate. In other words, the index highlights YES Prep's rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum.

DiBella has held various, progressive roles with YES Prep since 2001 including serving as Superintendent for the last two years.

The Education Results Partnership and the Institute for Productivity in Education listed YES Prep in its inaugural 2015 Texas Honor Roll. Four YES Prep campuses-- YES Prep West, YES Prep East End, YES Prep Southwest, and YES Prep Southeast-- were among 713 other schools named in the Star list. The Honor Roll recognizes schools and districts that demonstrate "consistently high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gaps."
