Free, voluntary care for children up to age 6 at time of admission, whose families are in crisis that might lead to abuse. Temporary housing for child and counseling for parent is offered. Also care for kids who are HIV+. Volunteers and aides staff 9 houses for 3-6 children each, providing a home-like atmosphere. Testing and therapy for developmentally delayed, birth to 6 years.

Parent Involvement and Education components in Preschool, K-3, 4-6, and 7-12 curricula. Family Center Child Care Collaborative offers parent education to selected day cares. The “WHO” program focuses on child abuse prevention for children. ”Parents Under Construction” program focuses on child abuse prevention for children. Also provides “Love U2” that aids in healthy dating relationships.

Family Education programs to strengthen families provided by trained professionals. Core programs include “Building Confident Families” which focuses on conflict resolution, safe and effective communication, problem solving, discipline, and other issues. “Families and Divorce” focuses on emotional effects of divorce on children and parents. Circle of Love is for grandparents and other relatives raising their family’s children. Education for parents and children 3-17 years old (childcare available for those under 3). Programs offered in Spanish and English.
