Minimum Qualifications for Teaching Candidates

Applicants for teaching positions in core subject areas (math, science, English, social studies, world languages, and fine arts) must generally meet the following requirements:

• The equivalent of a college major in the subject area to be taught (at least 24 credit hours) OR
• A passing score on the appropriate subject-area TExES or ExCET exam, AND
• A minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

Note:  certification is preferred but not required

How To Apply

Individuals interested in applying to teach in a YES Prep should fill out the online application and submit the following documentation:

• A current resume ( may be uploaded with online application)
• A letter of intent explaining your specific interest in YES Prep Public Schools (may be uploaded with online application)
• Copies of transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
• A copy of a current and valid teacher certificate (if certified)
