A Charter Education
Charter schools are public schools! They are designed as complements to traditional independent school districts. Charters exist to serve students that, for whatever reason, aren’t thriving in a one-size-fits-all traditional public school. Charters are free and open to all, offering every child an opportunity for a great education. To learn more about us and our charter school status, click here.

Our Community
YES Prep Public Schools is proud to announce a transformative partnership with the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD), demonstrating a mutual commitment to ensuring the success of our students and, ultimately, the betterment of our city.
As we wrap up the 2023-2024 school year, we reflect on a milestone that was nothing short of spectacular—our 25th anniversary! This year has been a remarkable journey, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who made it memorable, including over 2,100 faculty and staff who passionately served nearly 18,000 students across Houston.
YES Prep's Affinity Summits celebrate the diverse identities of our Latinx, Black/African American, LGBTQ+ and allies, and Asian Pacific Islander American students.
