Since 1998, YES Prep Public Schools has redefined what is possible in public education. With over 18,000 students across 23 schools and programs, we are a system of high-performing public charter schools proving that students from any community can achieve at the highest academic levels. Our exceptional results demonstrate that better outcomes are not only possible, but also probable, when school systems build a culture of high expectations and create effective support systems to ensure that student achievement is at the forefront of every decision made.
During the 2023-2024 school year, we will be commemorating our 25 years of impact by sharing our history, our milestones and stories.

We are excited to share three new perspectives from staff that has been with YES for 20 years: Angie Longoria, Nelly Martinez and Leigh Anne Rayburn.
Since its launch in 2004, YES Prep's Teaching Excellence alternative certification program has successfully nurtured and elevated talent through exceptional coaching and professional development, propelling teacher effectiveness to new heights.
Gustavo Mireles is a YES Prep Southeast alum and a founding teacher at Southeast Elementary. As part of YES Prep’s 25th anniversary spotlight series, we invited him to share a little bit more about his time at YES Prep.
The YES Prep landscape looks drastically different from when our system received its official charter from the State of Texas. We invited three of our most tenured staff, who have been with YES for over 20 years, to share what YES Prep looked like way back when and their thoughts on where we are today.
