Affinity Summits

In 2016, we revised our core values to better reflect the reason YES Prep was founded: to eliminate educational inequities and advance social justice.

As part of this focus, we expanded our efforts to provide opportunities for students to develop pride in their identities and build relationships within the communities with which they identify.

We believe that these efforts will strengthen students’ support systems and build their self-confidence, increasing the likelihood of their success in college and beyond.

YES Prep's Annual Affinity Summit:

At these summits, YES Prep students from all campuses participate in discussions with mentors in their communities, learn about their cultural heritage, and develop skills to navigate the college environment.

The goal of the summits is to ensure that students take pride in their identities and graduate prepared to lead, a key component of our mission.
