Family-teacher conferences at YES Prep elementary schools provide an opportunity for families to meet with their child’s teacher to better understand their SPARKS grade-level readiness and their learning goals.
Family-teacher conferences provide an opportunity for the school and the family to come together to partner on how to support students to ensure they are on track to be college-ready.

On Fri., October 11, 2024, our YES Prep elementary schools will host Family-Teacher Conference Day.
Please be on the lookout for school-specific information on who is required to attend the conferences, and how to request and sign up for a conference.
Family engagement is the core of student success at school. Please ensure that you maintain an open and constant communication with your child’s teacher.
Helpful tips for families to prepare for Family-Teacher Conferences
- Make this time with the child’s teacher a priority!
- Prepare questions you want to ask your child’s teacher ahead of time
- Think and be ready to discuss your child's strengths and areas of growth
- Be ready to discuss ways in which your family can commit to support your child at home
- Do not shy away from asking questions during the meeting. It is important that you have a clear idea of where your child is excelling at school and where they need the most support.
- Your child is not required to attend, but are welcomed to join!
