CSS Profile
Over 250 Colleges, Universities, and Scholarship programs across the United States use the CSS to determine students' financial need to award institutional financial aid. YES Prep supports seniors applying to these colleges and programs to ensure these colleges are affordable for our students.
The CSS Profile is a more comprehensive financial aid application than the FAFSA or TASFA which allow universities to sometimes provide more financial aid than Federal Aid due to the added nuance of the application.
The application is longer than the FAFSA and requires various supporting documentation from the student and their family.

How do I know if I need to complete the CSS Profile:
YES, Prep's College Application Software OverGrad has an easy method for any Junior and Senior to see if they will be required to submit the CSS Profile. To access these files, first access OverGrad:
Once you have signed into OverGrad, click on applications and select financial aid.
Your financial aid profile will tell you if the CSS Profile is required for any applications.
You can click on the CSS Profile section to see which applications require it and what components of the CSS profile you will need to complete:
If you have not started applying to colleges yet, you can research which applications require a CSS Profile on the College Boards website here
Ready to apply? You can get started with your application if you have completed tax returns, W-2 forms, and other records of current-year income, records of untaxed income and benefits, assets, and bank statements on hand. Please prepare to work with your family as your parents (including sometimes non-custodial parents) will need to help submit the application.
