What You Need to Know
- No action is needed to receive messages. ParentSquare automatically creates an account for each parent/guardian using the contact information listed in Skyward.
- You’ll receive emails, calls, and texts from your child’s school and from YES Prep directly—even if you don’t download the app.
- However, we encourage all families to download the ParentSquare app to take full advantage of the platform, including:
- Customizing your notification settings
- Messaging teachers and school staff
- Accessing calendars, forms, and announcements in one place
You can download the apps here: App Store | Google Play or visit parentsquare.com/signin to log in or register.
We’re excited to continue building stronger school-to-home connections through ParentSquare, our unified communications platform for YES Prep families.
During the 2024–2025 school year, YES Prep launched ParentSquare across all secondary schools (grades 6–12) to improve communication between families and schools. This platform allows families to receive messages from the school, reply directly to staff, and stay connected through a secure, easy-to-use interface.
What's Coming
Starting in the 2025–2026 school year, elementary families (grades pre-K through 5) will also begin using ParentSquare for all school communication. This means that all YES Prep schools—elementary and secondary—will use one consistent platform to keep families informed and engaged. (Please note: ClassDojo will still be used for behavior tracking only at the elementary level.)
Additionally, YES Prep is transitioning all systemwide messages (emails, phone calls, and texts) from SchoolMessenger to ParentSquare beginning in 2025–2026. This includes important updates from the district and your child’s school.
Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:
- Receive messages from the school via email, text and/or app notifications
- Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6 p.m.
- Communicate in your preferred language
- Comment on school postings to engage with your school community
- Direct messages with school staff
- Participate in group messages
