New Family Experience

At YES Prep, we firmly believe that families, schools, and the community play a crucial role as partners in the education of every child. We are thrilled and honored that you have chosen YES Prep for the education of your child and we look forward to working with you for many years to come!

Our partnership with students and families is strengthened through a three-part initiative called The New Family Experience; Welcome to YES, Commit to YES, and Succeed at YES. Welcome to YES happened back in April when you first accepted your child's seat and attended an event hosted on your child's campus.  Commit to YES and Succeed at YES will both occur in the first few weeks of school.

COMMIT TO YES

Commit to YES is a wonderful research-based tradition at YES Prep Public Schools. Every year we reach out to the families of new students to arrange sacred time to connect with them and learn more about their child. This can be done  virtually, in the student's home, on campus, or another location in the community.

Through Commit to YES, we want to warmly welcome families as valued members of the YES Prep community and learn more about their hopes and dreams for their child. We commit to doing whatever it takes to provide all students with an individualized pathway to academic and personal success and to engage in two-way communication with  families throughout their YES Prep experience.

NOTE: All families will have the option to have a virtual home visit using Microsoft Teams. We simply want to connect to lay the foundation for a trusting relationship between families and our schools.  A member of your child's campus team will be in touch in August to discuss your preferences and schedule your virtual (or in person) home visit.

SUCCEED AT YES

As we begin a new school year, we will be working closely with students at all grade levels to be sure they know what it will take to be successful in the upcoming year. The slides from several of the lessons our 6th - 12th grade students experienced the first week of school last year are linked below so you can get a sense of what they learned. If you have an elementary student, be sure to check the weekly folder and Class Dojo to stay up to date on the exciting things happening at each grade level. Thanks for working in partnership with us to achieve our ambitious goals!
