Black History Month (BHM) is an annual month of observance when individuals and events that helped the movement for equality for African Americans in the United States is celebrated. We invite you to read more about the origins of Black History Month, written by our Department of Organizational Strategy, Initiatives and Culture (OSIC), by clicking here.

This month we are spotlighting members of the YES Prep family, sharing scholarship opportunities for our Black/African American students and alumni and wrapping up the month with the annual Brotherhood Sisterhood Summit!

2024 Annual Brotherhood Sisterhood Summit

Each year, our Brotherhood Sisterhood Summit provides a safe and welcoming space for our Black/African American students and staff to embrace their unique identities, make meaningful connections and become empowered to lead change in their communities. This year the annual summit will be held on Saturday, February 24, at YES Prep Southside Secondary.
