On Tuesday, August 16, YES Prep hosted a “Badges and Bases” Back to School Rally at North Forest Elementary. The event was sponsored by the Astros Foundation, Cheniere Energy and the Houston Police Foundation. 

Through a growing partnership, the organizations came together to fund the giveaway of 1,000 new backpacks, books and school supplies to YES Prep elementary students.  

In addition to the school supplies, the Houston Food Bank distributed food to families in need and Crime Stoppers hosted giveaways throughout the event and shared invaluable safety information with families and educators. 

Equipped with all their new gear, the hundreds of elementary students danced to live music by DJ Johnny Bravo, petted the Houston Police’s K-9 and patrol horses, and played basketball games coordinated by Cheniere Energy volunteers.  

The celebration not only benefitted our students and families, our YES Prep teachers also received a school supply donation.
