On Saturday, February 22, YES Prep hosted the Brays Oaks Elementary Resource Fair at YES Prep Brays Oaks Secondary, bringing together local families for a day of essential community support.  

In partnership with Kids Meals, Avance, and other organizations, the event offered food distribution, school supply refresh bags for children, and valuable resources for the Brays Oaks community.  

This event was a special opportunity for Brays Oaks Elementary founding families and community members to visit the secondary school and visit with the YES Prep enrollment team while also receiving resources to support their families.  

A Celebration of Community and Support 

The event served as a bridge between families, local organizations, and YES Prep, creating an environment where attendees could access valuable resources, engage in meaningful conversations, and participate in fun activities. Families had the opportunity to connect with community partners, gain insights into available programs, and receive direct assistance from YES Prep staff on the lottery and enrollment process. 

With lottery acceptance notifications being sent out, families were able to ask questions and receive personalized guidance on securing their child’s seat for the upcoming school year. The event emphasized YES Prep’s commitment to making the enrollment process as accessible and transparent as possible, ensuring that every family felt supported in their educational journey. 

Essential Resources for Families 

In addition to connecting with organizations, families received school supply refresh bags to ensure students are well-prepared for success. Many families also expressed their gratitude for the groceries and essentials provided, which helped ease financial burdens and reinforced YES Prep’s dedication to family support. By offering these crucial resources, the event went beyond education—it provided families with tangible assistance that made a real difference in their daily lives.
