In a proud celebration of excellence in education, YES Prep Public Schools is thrilled to announce that 88 of its educators have received new or higher designations through the prestigious Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program. This brings the total number of YES Prep teachers recognized under this program to 184.

The TIA program, developed by the Texas Legislature, rewards teachers for their impact on student growth and performance evaluations. This recognition highlights YES Prep’s continued commitment to educator excellence and reinforces the district's position as a leader in teacher compensation and retention in Texas.

Recognizing Exceptional Educators

In the upcoming weeks, YES Prep campuses across Houston will host celebrations to honor these dedicated educators. Teachers will be recognized for their new or elevated designations as part of YES Prep's ongoing efforts to reward outstanding classroom contributions. The TIA designations—Recognized, Exemplary, and Master—reflect the significant impact these educators have on their students' success.

Notably, this year’s honorees include both new awardees and those who have achieved a higher level of distinction. For example, some teachers from Airline Elementary, Southside Secondary, Southwest Secondary, East End Elementary, Brays Oaks Secondary, and Southeast Elementary have been celebrated for their extraordinary contributions, with designations ranging from Recognized to Master

Financial Rewards for Impact

Through the TIA program, teachers receive up to $32,000 in additional compensation annually for up to five years, based on their designation. The vast majority of these funds are directly invested in the educators themselves, with 90% of TIA funds going to YES Prep teachers (100% for Southside Elementary and Secondary). Depending on experience and designation, a YES Prep teacher can earn up to $101,500 annually while continuing to inspire students in the classroom.

This financial incentive ensures that YES Prep teachers are recognized not only for their dedication but also for their significant role in shaping the future of their students. It is part of the district's commitment to fostering a thriving professional environment where educators can grow their careers without leaving the classroom.

Commitment to Educator Development

Beyond financial rewards, YES Prep remains deeply committed to providing teachers with robust professional development opportunities. Through a culture of collaboration, leadership programs, and continued mentorship, YES Prep ensures its educators have the support they need to succeed and grow.
