Strong teaching is not left to chance; it is cultivated through intentional development, meaningful relationships, and a deep commitment to student success at all our campuses. Through the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA), educators like Tiera Arseno are recognized for the impact they make every day. As a Level IV designated teacher at YES Prep Airline Elementary, Tiera represents what it means to lead with purpose, grow with intention, and center students in everything she does.

A Calling Shaped by Legacy

Tiera’s journey into education was inspired by her mother, whose passion and dedication left a lasting imprint. Watching her mother pour into her students sparked her own desire to create classrooms where children feel supported, valued, and capable of success. For Tiera, teaching is legacy.

“Growing up, I witnessed firsthand the difference a dedicated teacher can make, which sparked my own desire to create positive, supportive learning environments for students.”

That connection has come full circle. As a recent YES Prep retiree, her mother’s legacy now lives through Tiera’s work, guiding her approach and reinforcing her commitment to making a difference in the lives of her students.

Choosing YES Prep, Growing With Purpose

Tiera’s path to YES Prep was intentional. She was drawn to a place where relationships, equity, and purposeful instruction are ideals and practiced daily.

Since joining YES Prep Airline Elementary, she has embraced opportunities to grow both inside and outside the classroom. From serving as a Grade Level Chair and Culture Engagement Ambassador to mentoring others and earning her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, each experience has strengthened her craft and deepened her impact.

She credits this growth to being part of a community that prioritizes collaboration and shared purpose, where educators are supported to evolve and lead.

Building Classrooms Where Students Thrive

Step inside Tiera’s kindergarten classroom, and you’ll find a space grounded in both structure and care.

She believes that strong relationships are the foundation of effective teaching. By taking the time to truly understand her students, their strengths, needs, and learning styles, she creates an environment where they feel safe to take risks and grow.“I pair this relationship-driven approach with data-driven instruction and differentiated practices.” Tiera shared.

Through consistent progress monitoring and targeted support, Tiera ensures every student is seen, challenged, and supported. This balance of high expectations and intentional care allows her students to build confidence, independence, and a genuine love for learning.

The Power of Partnership

For Tiera, some of the most transformative moments in her career have come through the relationships she has built, with students as well as their families.

“When students feel supported and families feel heard, meaningful growth follows.”

By prioritizing trust, communication, and collaboration, she has created a classroom community where families feel like true partners in their child’s education. These connections continue to shape her practice, pushing her to reflect, grow, and advocate more intentionally for every student she serves.

A Place Where Educators Thrive

Tiera is clear about why YES Prep stands out. It invests in educators as whole professionals.

Whether stepping into leadership roles, mentoring peers, or refining instructional practices, teachers are given the tools and opportunities to grow at every stage of their careers. For Tiera, this balance of support and challenge has made all the difference.

“YES Prep will challenge you, support you, and provide opportunities to grow in ways that extend outside the classroom.”
