The countdown to the first day of school is on! With just one month until students return to campuses, our teams are busy preparing to welcome everyone back for another exciting year at YES Prep.
In this month's Family Update, you'll find everything you need to prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, including our new Back-to-School webpage, Annual Student Enrollment forms, uniform information, Meet the Teacher and Welcome Back Night events, and other important reminders.
We're also sharing opportunities to connect with your school community this summer, including the YES Prep Cares Supply Drive, the Back-to-School Health Fair, and ways to get involved as a Family Association Representative.

Preparing for a new school year is easier when everything you need is in one place. The YES Prep Back-to-School webpage has the latest information and resources to help your family get ready for the 2026–2027 school year.
You'll find school supply lists, Annual Student Enrollment forms, campus checklists, transportation information, uniform details, back-to-school events, and more. Join Us at the YES Prep Cares Back-to-School Health Fair
The first day of school is almost here, and we're here to help your family get ready! Join us for the YES Prep Cares Back-to-School Health Fair on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at YES Prep West Elementary (9910 Sharpcrest St., Houston, TX 77036).
Families will have the opportunity to receive free vaccines through Texas Children's Hospital, get free or low-cost haircuts, pick up school supplies, and connect with community organizations offering valuable resources and services.
YES Prep departments and community partners will also be on-site to help students start the school year healthy, prepared, and ready to learn. Click here to RSVP.

Complete Your 2026–2027 Annual Enrollment Forms
If you haven't already, now is the time to complete your student's 2026–2027 Annual Student Enrollment forms. All new and returning YES Prep students are required to submit these forms, regardless of when they enrolled.
Annual Student Enrollment forms help ensure your student's important information, including guardians, emergency contacts, and medical information, is up to date. Keeping this information current also helps YES Prep respond appropriately in case of an emergency and maintain compliance with the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
The forms are available in both English and Spanish through Skyward Family Access by selecting the Annual Student Enrollment Forms tile.
All Annual Student Enrollment forms must be submitted by Friday, July 31, 2026.

Get Ready for School at This Saturday's Supply Drive
School is almost here, and tomorrow is a great opportunity to check one more thing off your back-to-school list! Join us for the YES Prep Cares Supply Drive on Saturday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at YES Prep Hobby Secondary.
Families can receive free school supplies (while supplies last), enjoy fun activities and snacks, and connect with community resources as they prepare for the first day of school.

Meet Your Teacher Before the First Day of School
Beginning next month, elementary families will have the opportunity to attend Meet the Teacher events before the first day of school. These events give students a chance to meet their teacher, visit their classroom, and become familiar with their school before the new year begins.
Families will also have an opportunity to learn more about classroom expectations, connect with school staff, and help students feel confident and excited for the first day of school.

Camp Sparks Welcomes Our Youngest Learners
If your child is entering Pre-K or Kindergarten this fall, Camp Sparks Day on Aug. 12 gives our newest students a head start by attending school one day before students in Grades 1–5 begin the school year.
This special day provides students with the opportunity to explore their new school, become familiar with daily routines, meet campus staff, and build confidence in their new learning environment.

Preparing Secondary Students for a Strong Start
Secondary students have exciting opportunities to prepare for the new school year before classes begin.
Bridge Camp on Aug. 12 from 8:30-4:00 pm welcomes incoming 6th graders and 9th graders, helping students build connections, get to know their campus, and prepare for the transition to middle or high school. Lunch will be provided.
Succeed at YES (SAY) takes place Aug. 13–14 for all returning secondary students. During SAY, students reconnect with their school community, learn expectations for the year ahead, and build the foundation for a successful school year.

Welcome Back Night Is Coming Soon
The new school year is just around the corner, and secondary families are invited to attend Welcome Back Night beginning next month. During these events, families will learn about the year ahead, hear important campus updates, and have an opportunity to connect with teachers and staff before the first day of school.

Become a Family Association Representative
Do you want to get more involved at your child's school? Become a Family Association Representative (FAR) and help make a difference in your school community!
FARs work with their campus to plan family events, share information with other families, and help create a welcoming school community. Representatives receive a $1,500 stipend for serving in this role during the school year.

Complete sus Formularios Anuales de Inscripción 2026–2027
Si aún no lo ha hecho, este es el momento para completar los Formularios Anuales de Inscripción Estudiantil para el año escolar 2026–2027.
Todos los estudiantes nuevos y quienes regresan a YES Prep deben completar estos formularios, sin importar cuándo se hayan inscrito.
Estos formularios nos ayudan a mantener actualizada la información importante del estudiante, incluyendo tutores, contactos de emergencia e información médica. Contar con esta información actualizada también permite que YES Prep responda adecuadamente en caso de una emergencia y cumpla con los requisitos de la Agencia de Educación de Texas (TEA).
Los formularios están disponibles en inglés y español a través de Skyward Family Access, seleccionando el mosaico Annual Student Enrollment Forms.

Conviértase en Representante de la Asociación de Familias
¿Le gustaría involucrarse más en la escuela de su hijo(a)? ¡Conviértase en un Representante de la Asociación de Familias (FAR) y ayude a fortalecer la comunidad escolar!
Los FAR colaboran con su escuela para organizar eventos familiares, compartir información con otras familias y contribuir a crear una comunidad escolar acogedora. Los representantes reciben un estipendio de $1,500 por desempeñar este cargo durante el año escolar.
¿Quiere obtener más información? Participe en una reunión virtual este mes, el 23 de julio, a las 10:30 a.m. o 5:30 p.m., para conocer el rol, hacer preguntas y aprender cómo postularse.
