Inspiration behind art: I was inspired by the coziness of the holidays and wanted to add a YES Prep touch.

What YES Prep means to me: YES Prep pushes me to further my education beyond high school.

Artwork Name: "Holiday Card"

Inspiration behind art: "Art is a way of showing your feelings, showing your ideas, being creative, doing what you like and being yourself. I created this artwork because I like Santa Claus. I liked the idea of drawing Santa stuck in the chimney. I thought it was a fun idea because it shows when Santa tried to go into the house but got stuck and now, he can’t give all the other kids their gifts. The way I drew the houses in the back, smaller than the one in front brings the viewers’ attention to Santa stuck in the chimney. The white dots in the sky are stars to help the viewer know it’s nighttime. I really liked this artwork because Santa stuck on the chimney is funny making it seem like he’s fat and couldn’t fit inside the chimney."

What YES Prep means to me: "YES Prep to me means education, a safe place and somewhere I can be myself. At Yes Prep I feel like I can be myself and that no one will judge me. At Yes prep I feel like I get enough education, and my teachers really inspire me to do my work and to keep going no matter what. I am grateful for this school and what they do for us."

What YES Prep means to me: "YES Prep means a lot to me because I've been here since I was in the 6th grade and they have helped me get prepared for college. I'm thankful for this school."

What YES Prep means to me: "YES Prep means a lot to me and my family. We are glad to realize that I can be educated in such a safe, and reliable school. I can express myself and learn much more as a scholar and have major growth in school subjects. Me and my family are very grateful to YES Prep for all they have done for me, and many other students."

Inspiration behind art: "I took inspiration from what I think is important during the holiday. I think that the most important thing is spending time with your loved ones. There's nothing better than sharing a special moment with someone. It is a memory you get to keep all your life. People don’t live forever, so its important to spend time with them while they are still with us. This is why my artwork is a family spending time together during the holidays."

What YES Prep means to me: "YES Prep is like someone that supports me. I have met so many people and teachers that mean the whole world to me. They are people who I can depend on and trust when I need help. They are people that bring me joy. YES Prep is also my future. They help me prepare for my life and college. I have a great education with YES Prep and I wish to continue it."
